Active Day Centers’ members enjoy safe and productive days and return to the warmth and familiarity of home each night.  Members look forward to a variety of challenging, interesting and entertaining activities that are offered in a safe, homelike environment.  Equally important, family caregivers can feel confident that excellent medical and therapeutic care will be provided by our experienced staff of healthcare professionals.  It is our goal to do more than merely keep our members safe while they are in our care.  We promote recovery from disabling conditions, help members regain skills needed to care for themselves and keep them active and intellectually stimulated throughout the day.

Medical Care & Personal Care Assistance:

§         Professionally trained staff of RNs, LPNs, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Personal Care Assistants, Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists.

§         Complete care assessments developed for each member by our multi-disciplinary team.

§         On site physical, occupational and speech therapies designed to restore mobility and maximize independence.

§         Management and administration of medications including injections, as needed.

§         Assistance with toileting, bathing, feeding, dressing, mobility and managing incontinence.

§         Emergency preparedness and training with staff certified in basic life support and first aide.

§         Other services may be provided, such as podiatry, massage, primary care physicians.

Activities:

§         Designed with member input to be dignified, meaningful and above, all fun.

§         Daily activities include: exercise, music, physical activities, mental stimulation

§         Monthly outings to the theater, restaurants, museums, parks, fairs

§         Adult crafts and games: painting, ceramics, wood crafts, cooking, mahjong

§         Classes on art, history, music and travel

§         Member council meets monthly to give specific input into scheduled activities

Safe and dependable transportation:

§         Convenient pick-up and drop-off times

§         Careful screenings and background checks completed on all drivers

§         Uniformed, courteous drivers

§         Vehicles equipment with emergency communication system

§         Transportation available to medical appointments

Meals & Nutritional Services:

§         Continental breakfast

§         Hot, full-course Lunch

§         Afternoon snack

§         All meals are appetizing and nutritionally balanced
